I find my most satisfying work to be in the personal and
fine art category. Unlike commercial work, where there are many restraints
put on me that can stifle creativity, fine art allows me to enjoy the whole
painting process. Being able to achieve a higher degree of emotion and
texture through the traditional way of oil painting enables me to express
more fully my love for people and costumes. I believe this delight is evident
in my personal work. Having total control even extends into the framing
process, as I have on several occasions made one-of-a-kind frames in my
wood shop.
